Everyone ages, but how someone ages depends significantly on a number of environmental and genetic factors.

One Environmental factor that most people can control is their level of Physical Activity. The CDC has a recommendation of 150 Minutes of Moderate intensity exercise per week to see health benefits not just in the short term, but also later in life. Exercise is thought to be a protective factor from many conditions such as Heart Disease, Sarcopenia(Muscle Weakness), Osteoporosis, and Cognitive Decline. Most of these conditions do not become major issue until later in life. These findings come from an article review entitled "Exercise and Longevity" by Gremeaux et al.

Successful Ageing

With age comes experience and wisdom, but it also sees a decline in physical health. Everyone ages, but not everyone ages the same. An intervention as simple as regular exercise can have drastic effects down the line. When we talk about successful ageing, we are mainly referring to being able to stay independent and free from preventable chronic conditions. Being fit while ageing has thought to also to be protective from acute conditions such as illness, infection, and tissue damage.
